- Beside the 5 general courses of the MSc Business Economics in your curriculum, you will have 4 courses with focus on brain and cognitive sciences and economics. The Neuroeconomics track is an interdisciplinary track, related to Economics, Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience.
- You will be lectured by professors and experts in neuroeconomics. Apart from learning about the latest research in neuroeconomics and the field’s theories and models, you will also learn important and widely-applicable data analysis and programming skills.

Help solve societal issues with neuroeconomic research
Understanding how the brain is involved in making decisions across economic, social and consumer contexts is of crucial importance for identifying the biological basis of human behaviour. Recent technological advances make this possible by providing the tools that give scientists a looking glass into the brain in action during complex behaviours. Neuroeconomics is a highly interdisciplinary field that covers fundamental insights from Neuroscience, Psychology, (Behavioral) Economics, as well as programming skills.
Career prospects
Graduates of the Master's programme in Business Economics/Neuroeconomics track have excellent job prospects for positions as researchers and experts in:
- consultancy
- academia
- data science
- (neuro-) marketing
- research career outside academia
- transferable skills allow entry to many fields
Is the Master's in Business Economics for you?
This interdisciplinary Master's track is open to excellent students with a Bachelor’s in Economics, Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related disciplines. It also helps if you show evidence of branching out into other fields of study relevant to neuroeconomics. The basic entry requirements are sufficient knowledge in:
- Econometrics or Statistics
- And at least one of the following courses (or their equivalent): Microeconomics, Behavioral Economics, Game Theory, Introductory Psychology or Cognitive/Affective Neuroscience.
- Students will also benefit if they have conducted an empirical research project (Bachelor's thesis or equivalent).
