'You develop a useful skillset'

Thierry Wetzel (Switserland) - Competition Law and Economics track

'I was looking for a specialisation combining quantitative methods with the aspects of regulation and anti-trust law. The Amsterdam School of Economics offered exactly this, making the programme the ideal choice for me.'

'Going full speed from the beginning, you follow well designed courses, strongly related to one another. This lets you see the bigger picture of the programme right from the start. Even though the programme is quite demanding and challenging, you develop a useful skillset. This makes it well worth the effort.'

'Amsterdam is an excellent city for young people. It is vibrant and there are plenty of students and other interesting people. This allows for a healthy mix of studying and enjoyment. The city never gets boring and the School of Economics has a great location to fully appreciate the city. Also, the university offers a great network amongst student, teachers and companies.'

'After completing my master’s programme I would like to proceed with research in the combined field of Competition Law & Economics. Later on I would like to move into a regulatory advisory role or consulting, with close links to further academic research in this field.'
