The English track has an early application deadline: 15 January 2026 (also if you want to apply for a scholarship).

The Admissions Office will evaluate your eligibility based on the following criteria: 

• Secondary school diploma 
• English proficiency 
• Mathematics proficiency 
• Dutch proficiency (additional requirement for the Dutch track)

Studielink is the national online registration system for students who want to apply to a degree programme at a Dutch university.  If you are applying to a programme at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). You must first register in Studielink.   

Important:   

• Make sure to select the correct language track (Dutch or English). 
• Once the application deadline has passed, you can no longer switch between tracks. Pay close attention to the track deadlines, as they differ.
• After the application deadline for the English track (15 January), you can still switch to the Dutch track (application deadline 1 May). Switching the other way around is not possible, as the application deadline for the English track will already have passed.
•  After registering in Studielink, please follow the next steps, you must submit your complete application in SIS (under My Applications) within 14 days.

After registering in Studielink, you will receive your UvAnetID. This will give you access to check the status of your personal enrolment checklist in SIS. There you find the subsequent steps that you need to take in order to complete your enrolment.

In order to check if you are eligible for the programme you need to upload and submit your documents in SIS under 'My Applications'.

We expect you to submit your completed application within 14 days after registering in Studielink. If you haven't submitted it within this period, you will receive a reminder. If you miss the second deadline as well, your application in SIS and your registration in Studielink will be cancelled. If you are still interested in the programme, you need to start again by re-registering in Studielink and submitting a new application.

Students with an international secondary school diploma in combination with a HBO-P can skip this step.

To be eligible for admission to the programme, you must participate in the selection. This involves an online test on a pre-scheduled date. You can register for the test date in your Enrolment Checklist. It is important to do this no later than 15 January 2025. 

The dates of the selection tests will be announced in October.

About a week before the test, you will gain access to the online learning environment Canvas, where you will find the study materials and more information about the test. 

If you have taken the selection test, you will receive a ranking number on 15 April. This ranking number will ultimately determine whether you are offered a place in the programme.

Depending on your ranking number, you will be offered a place in the bachelor's programme. You then have 14 calendar days to accept this offer. If you do not accept it, your spot will be forfeited and offered to another student.

Your tuition fee needs to be credited to the UvA’s bank account 1 day before your degree programme starts at the latest, so 31 August for a September start.
