ESB, a platform for economists in the Netherlands, released its annual ranking in what is referred to as the ‘Economenparade’. The 2024 ranking lists university lecturers (who are not full professors) at Dutch Economics faculties with the most publications in top-tier journals.

Amsterdam School of Economics (ASE) researcher Marcelo Pedroni (Macro and International Economics section) was ranked 2nd, while Arturas Juodis (Quantitative Economics section) was ranked 3rd. They are joined by ASE lecturers Yi He  (Quantitative Economics section) in 19th place and Ton van den Bremer (Macro and International Economics section) at number 21.

ESB used the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database for the period 2019–2023 to calculate the scores and compile the list of economists with the most international top publications. Only articles published in journals within the domain of Economics were included, provided at least 1 author was affiliated with a Dutch university at the time of publication. The Economics domain for this ranking is defined as including all journals listed in the Tinbergen Journal List, or the top journals in the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) Journal List.
