Achieving ambitious objectives

Randolph Sloof: ‘The Amsterdam School of Economics has undergone significant development over the past few years and has taken major steps towards achieving its ambitious strategic objectives. This has raised ASE’s profile and made it more attractive when it comes to the recruitment of young academics on the international job market. There is a much stronger focus on high-quality research that has an impact on society, and the support available for researchers in applying for research funding has been expanded and professionalised. In addition to all of this, there is also more emphasis on diversity and inclusion. As research director, I want to continue strengthening and expanding these positive developments. I’m looking forward to carrying out my work together with my colleagues in the ASE management team, my fellow research director at the ABS, and with all my colleagues at UvA Economics and Business.’
