The master thesis of Fleur Randag, written at ACLE under the supervision of Maarten Pieter Schinkel, is nominated for the UvA Thesis Award. Fleur Randag studied coordination effects of the price leadership ban clauses in the European State aid conditions for the Dutch banks, to help explain why mortgage interest rates in The Netherlands are among the highest in Europe, including large profits margins. The thesis was source of an influential Zembla television documentary. The prize for best thesis at UvA in the academic year 2011-2012 will be awarded during the Universiteitsdag, June 1.
