In a recent announcement, Barbara Baarsma (professor of Market Forces and Competition Issues at UvA Economics and Business) has been appointed as a new member of The Nederlands Comité voor Ondernemerschap starting from 1 March 2019.
In addition to her position as professor at UvA Economics and Business, Baarsma is currently also a Crown appointed member of the Social Economic Council (SER) and Director of Rabobank Amsterdam.
The committee was set up by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and is committed to the sustainable growth of small and medium sized enterprises. The Committee has an independent role in monitoring, researching and interpreting trends and developments for small and medium sized enterprises and reports annually on this. Other members of the Committee are chairman Harold Goddijn (co-Founder and CEO of TomTom), Her Majesty Queen Máxima, Meiny Prins (CEO and co-Owner at Priva) and Occo Roelofsen (Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company).
