On 1 June 2018, Prof. Peter van Gool, professor of Real Estate Economics, was conferred a royal honour as a Knight in the Order of Oranje Nassau.
Van Gool received the medal from Amsterdam’s deputy mayor Udo Cock. In his presentation speech Kock spoke about Van Gool’s long-term contribution to the field of Real Estate Economics, both at the University of Amsterdam and the Amsterdam School of Real Estate (ASRE).
He additionally praised Van Gool’s efforts for the real estate sector as a professor, as head of real estate with SPF Beheer, and as initiator and board member of Stivad, a real estate transaction database. Deputy mayor Kock also mentioned Van Gool’s work for the Stichting Blinden-Penning (foundation for the visually impaired) and the Stichting Werkverschaffing (foundation for work relief) to assist visually impaired persons in need of assistance.
