On 1 December 2013 Dr Audrey Hu will start conducting research into High-risk Auctions. The research will be carried out at the Center for Research in Experimental Economics and Political Decision Making (CREED).
The sale by auction of state-owned assets to private investors often involves high stakes and high risk. When competing bidders exhibit heterogeneous valuation and risk behaviour, traditional auctions are inefficient. Audrey Hu will look for efficient auction principles that will raise turnover in these types of situations.
This summer a total of 19 post-doctoral researchers received a Veni grant for research at the UvA and AMC. The grants were provided by NWO (Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research). The research grant of € 250,000 enables researchers to conduct research for a period of three years.
