12–16 December: Economics Education Week

The economics journal ESB is organising the national Economics Education Week to be held from 12-16 December. The UvA will participate by organising a number of events that will take place during the week.

During the festive closing of the week’s events, Sander Onderstal (UvA) and David Hollanders (Tilburg University) will present a special issue of TPEdigitaal on the subject of Economics education at universities. TPEdigitaal is an open access scientific journal on economics theory and policy. The authors of various articles will also speak during a special session. The speakers include Irene van Staveren (Erasmus University Rotterdam), Ben Vollaard  (Tilburg University), and Mark Mink (DNB).

On Monday 12 December Rethinking Economics has organised a debate evening on the subject of new approaches to scientific education in the subject of economics. The debate will be preceded by a presentation of the initial research results of curriculum research carried out by Rethinking Economics. Finally, there will be a presentation by  keynote speaker Steve Keen, (Kingston University, London). Various Dutch professors will take part in a debate with Steve Keen and each other.
